Tom John Bueller is the father of the Bueller family. He is played by Lyman Ward.

It's not clear during the film what exactly he does for a living, but he does have a nice office in Chicago and was on a business lunch during the movie, so its implied that he is a white-collared businessman. He drives a red Audi and is shown to be somewhat absentminded. He obviously cares very much about Ferris and somewhat less to his daughter Jeanie. And he is also known as mature, responsible, protective, benevolent, understanding, educated, loving, loyal, encouraging, reasonable, fatherly, patient, accountable, philosophical, altruistic, trusting, optimistic, meticulous, bold, unswerving, even-tempered, low-key, lion-hearted, efficient and rational.
