Garth Volbeck is a minor character in Ferris Bueller's Day Off who talks with Jeanie Bueller in the police station. Volbeck was played by Charlie Sheen, and does not appear in any other Ferris Bueller related media.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off[]

He was pulled in the police station for drugs (the exact details are never stated). While waiting he encounters Jeanie Bueller and subsequently makes out with her.

Personality[]

He gives Jeanie good advice after inquiring as to her problems and her reason for being in the police station - he says that maybe the problem is her, and not her brother Ferris. The first word he says in the movie is "Drugs?" (causing Jeanie to think that he was offering her drugs), and he's a quiet yet rather kind boy who Jeanie ends up taking a liking to.

Trivia[]

  • Although he was not given a name in he movie, his name was revealed in the original script, and he was given an entire backstory.
    • Ferris originally stated that he knew Garth back in 8th grade, and that he had a difficult home life. Because of this, Ferris tried to help him out, but he ended up dropping out of school. This explains much more to Ferris' character. He failed to help out Garth, so he wanted to help Cameron as well, who also had a difficult home life.
    • His backstory is also explained in the Ferris Bueller novel and on the TV Show The Goldbergs.
    • His actor has recently come out to say that Garth was supposed to have long hair - but Charlie Sheen refused to let his hair grow.
  • His family appears to own a towing business, as Ed Rooney's car is towed from in front of the Bueller house by a Volbeck's Wrecker Service truck.
